From academia to online creativity: bridging two worlds
For many years, my professional life has been rooted in the world of academia. It still is — teaching at university level, conducting rigorous research, and publishing articles in specialized journals. It’s a world of deep thinking, structured inquiry, and high standards. But over time, I’ve discovered another side of myself that is equally important: a more playful, spontaneous, and intuitive side that thrives in the online creative community.
I don’t see these two worlds as opposites. On the contrary, they enrich each other. My academic background gives me a strong foundation of ideas, concepts, and curiosity — all of which I can bring into my art and teaching online. And the online world, with its openness and immediacy, feeds my creative spirit in ways that formal research might not always do. Together, they help me live a fuller, more balanced, and more connected professional and personal life.
Today, I’m thrilled to invite you to experience a little of this blend of inspiration, learning, and creativity in my next big project.
Art Soul Gathering 2025
After my recent lesson in Art Soul Living: The Divine Flow — where we connected with Saraswati symbols through watercolor and gel prints — I’m excited to join another extraordinary event.
From August 28 to September 8, I’ll be one of 16 artist-teachers sharing our love for nature, creativity, and the human spirit in the Art Soul Gathering 2025, a free 12-day online retreat hosted again by Ida Andersen Lang.
This gathering offers 16 beautiful lessons designed for all levels — whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or experienced artist — each gifted to you by passionate creatives from around the world. We’ll create together, learn from each other, and hold a sacred creative space for the duration of the retreat.
